Five Aspects of Masculinity for Young Men (Second Edition)

Student Book

The Five Aspects of Masculinity for Young Men course is designed for young men within the age range of approximately 15 to 25. The work is an excellent introduction to the more mature Five Aspects of Man material. The Five Aspects of man are: Lord of the Earth, Husbandman, Savior, Sage, and Glory of God. Each aspect is studied four times: created, fallen, redeemed, and life application. The aspects are the same as the Five Aspects of Man, but they are presented with an emphasis on a young man’s progression from a dependent to a decision maker, provider, and protector; from a young fool to a wise man, and from a follower to a leader who represents God and His masculine roles. The Five Aspects of Man puts more emphasis on mature life work, marriage, and fatherhood. The workbook includes 20 lessons with scripture-study assignments and questions. The workbook is a free-standing course without audio supplements.

Ideally, all students should be led by a mature, male teacher who has studied the Five Aspects of Man. Great benefit would come through a group of young men going through this discipleship study together, although a mature young man could go through it alone. The Five Aspects of Masculinity Leader’s Guide is the same as the student workbook, but it includes answers to the study questions, additional commentary and insight, as well as suggestions for leading a group. The Leader’s Guide is an invaluable tool for leaders.
